The simplest way to sit still. Use it to begin, to end, or to breathe for a minute between meetings.
How to
- Sit at the centre of the mat and cross the shins, each foot under the opposite knee.
- Rock gently until you feel both sitting bones evenly on the cork.
- Rest the hands on the knees, palms up or down.
- Lengthen through the crown of the head and let the shoulders settle.
- Close the eyes and count ten slow breaths.
Tips
- If the knees sit higher than the hips, sit on a folded blanket or a cork block.
- Swap the cross of the legs halfway through.
- Keep the chin level — most of us drop it forward.
